Beginner Workshops
Take an afternoon and escape into the world of willow weaving. You’ll spend 2 – 4 hours in our studio in Whitley Bay.
Book onto our scheduled workshops on EventBrite and walk away with a completed project in just one session.
Everything you need for your workshop will be provided by our studio. You just need to bring your hands!
Creating should be enjoyable, so instruction is deliberately paced correctly for skill level. Delivered in a coaching-style, we keep you moving towards your goal, without demanding you keep up.
Weaving always creates conversation and maybe even new friends. You’re welcome to our monthly Sip & Weave in the studio where we host a different project each month and greet you with a glass of fizz. We want you to keep your new weaving friendships thriving.
Our in-person workshops take place at The Workshop with Justine Holdsworth in Whitley Bay. Our creative studio provides a warm, inspiring environment with plenty of natural light and all the tools you’ll need for your willow weaving journey. FAQ Workshops
Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Or bring your apron. Willow can sometimes leave natural stains on clothing. Layers are recommended as you may warm up while working. Wool sweaters are not recommended as the willow snags it. Closed-toe shoes are best for safety, especially for longer workshops.
All tools and materials for your project are provided as part of the workshop fee. Just bring yourself, perhaps a notebook if you like taking notes, and your enthusiasm! If you have your own favorite secateurs, you’re welcome to bring them, but it’s not necessary.
We recommend arriving 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to settle in, enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee, and meet your fellow weavers. This gives us time to start promptly and maximize your creative time. On street, limited parking is available and we are a short walk from the local metro stop.
We keep our groups small in order to make sure that our participants get the attention they need and deserve to complete their projects. Beginner workshops are limited to 8 -10 participants and our advanced skills weaving workshops are limited to 4-6 participants.
Yes! Private workshops are available for groups of 4 or more people at no extra charge. These are perfect for team-building events, birthday celebrations, hen parties, or just a creative day out with friends. Contact us for pricing and available dates so we can help you plan!
We try to be as accommodating as we can be. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
In the rare event that we need to cancel (due to instructor illness, extreme weather, etc.), you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another scheduled workshop. We will give as much notice as possible in these situations.
Willow weaving teaches us to embrace natural variations—that’s part of its charm! As one participant noted, “It gave me back a bit of confidence I didn’t know I’d lost.” We create a supportive environment where the focus is on the process and the joy of creating, not on perfection.
If you are having doubts due to physical limitations or your degree of neuro-spiciness, let us know what your concerns are so that we can address them with you.
